I am confident that Northwestern...
will hold fast to the integrity that has long set it apart, and safeguard our cherished Democratic and Constitutional principles against this unprecedented attack. In the 20 years since I graduated I have never seen us falter, which is why I remain NLaw proud and dedicated to the school. Please let us know how else alumni can use our voices and the elite training we gained at Northwestern help the institution meet this moment triumphantly.
The education I received from Professor Bedi is the most valuable thing I own.
She is a deeply passionate educator and community member, and Northwestern must stand behind her.
Academic freedom and the First Amendment are at stake.
Our school must be on the right side of history.
I had the privilege to take Professor Bedi’s class on civil rights alongside incarcerated classmates.
The class was a formative highlight of my law school career. Fighting for justice against governmental abuse of power must continue to be a cornerstone of NLaw’s work and education.
I became a lawyer because I believe in the rule of law and due process.
And I have spent the last 10 years aiming to bring that to even the most disenfranchised through pro bono work and plaintiffs side work. Please don't cave to these a******s. And if you need more lawyers to help I'm in.
Such an amazing professor and brilliant legal mind.
There is room for all in academia, nothing in her practice even toes the line with unprofessional. She has the highest ethical standards and we are lucky to have her.
Sheila is an outstanding Educator and Lawyer...
whose work is necessary for Chicago and for the next generation of lawyers who uphold justice.
We love you, Professor Bedi!
Thank you for your steadfast support of those whose fundamental rights are under attack. You are an incredible educator and an even better person.
Sheila Bedi is a wonderful professor and a treasure to the NU community.
Her clinic left a positive impact on many of my classmates and the larger Chicago community. We must stand together in the face of injustice, as she has done for so many others.
She is invaluable to our work to protect the rights of those mistreated by the police.
She has stood with us and now it is our turn to stand with her!
If we don’t protect and defend the rule of law...
who else will?
